Gwadar to have naval school and college – Pakistan – DAWN.COM
KARACHI: Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Mohammad Asif Sandila laid the foundation-stone of Bahria Model School and College in Gwadar on Thursday.
During his visit to navy’s coastal establishments, Admiral Sandila reviewed the operational preparedness of troops at PNS Makran, Pasni. He interacted with officers and men and appreciated their hard work and devotion towards the defence of the country, said a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations.
The Bahria Model School and College in Gwadar is being built on 16 acres of land provided by the government of Balochistan. The provincial government will also provide Rs200 million for the construction and development of the college which will be built in collaboration with a non-governmental organisation.
A makeshift arrangement of Bahria Model School Gwadar till the 8th standard was made operational in 2010 to provide quality educational facilities to the local populace.
At present, 417 students are enrolled in the school while 27 teachers from the local community are employed there.
