Completion of Gadani, Gwadar projects top PM’s agenda: CM Shahbaz

LAHORE: Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that completion of Gadani and Gwadar projects with the cooperation of China was top priority of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. He said that these projects will also help Pakistan overcome energy crisis besides increasing exports and creating a large number of jobs.
According to a handout, he was addressing various meetings and functions in Beijing on Monday. The chief minister said that the $32 billion development package offered by China was a proof of the fact that Chinese leaders had full confidence in present Pakistani leadership. He said that China knows that such a leadership was in power in Pakistan that was committed to progress and development of the country and considered national exchequer as a sacred trust.
The chief minister met with senior officials of China Development Bank, which is the biggest bank in the sector of international cooperation, and the ICBC, which is the biggest commercial bank of China.
He said that Pakistan was facing shortage of 6,000 MW of electricity and its demand would further increase in future. He said that this situation provided a good opportunity to foreign investors for making investment in Pakistan. He said that foreign investors would not only have state guarantees regarding the sale of electricity, but there would also be no restriction on taking their profit back to their country.
